Vida Juicer, too often, we accept stress as an everyday part of life. It is true that we all have to deal with it, but if you understood how much havoc it causes, you would do everything in your power to get rid of it.
If you are exposed to stress on a long-term basis, you can develop high blood pressure, experience a lowered immune system, and even raise your chances of developing heart disease. Chronic stress can also cause everyday symptoms, like irritability, weight gain which is a big one, and lethargy due to lack of sleep.
So, what can you do to keep stress from ruling your life? Let’s talk about some simple ways you can win the battle and stay much more relaxed.
Quick Tips to Make a Big Difference
If you are stressed, you may not have a lot of time to devote to becoming de-stressed. So, instead of making things more difficult on you, here are few tips to relaxing and not letting stress take charge.
Learn how to breathe deeply. Yoga actually teaches you this. When you get stressed, you tend to take shallow breaths, which is actually worse for your body. The lack of oxygen can keep your brain from thinking clearly. Stop what you are doing, take some deep breaths and if you’re up for a challenge take up yoga to help you relax.
Find affirmations and use them. These are little words or phrases that you repeat to yourself. That may seem silly at first, but the more you repeat something to yourself, the more you will believe it. Stress relieving affirmations could include: “this will pass”, “I will get through this”, and “I am in control.”
Use muscle relaxation techniques. Stress causes your muscles to stay tense and that actually furthers the stress cycle. When you find yourself tense, focus on relaxing each of your muscles one at a time starting with your toes and working your way up.
Exercise! My favorite!! When you work out, your body releases endorphins (feel good hormones) and this automatically helps you feel great. You should feel like a champion when done working out!
All of these tips can help you relax. But, there is something else you can do as well.
Juices to De-stress
Another way to beat stress is to simply incorporate juices into your daily routine. Certain foods actually reverse the effects of stress on your body and can help you relax, while giving you bursts of energy. Let’s make a simple tasty juice right now
- Small bunch kale
- 1 cucumber
- 1 lime
- Handful mint
- Handful parsley
- 5 small red sweet peppers
Juice these six ingredients. You may need to chop them based on the type of juicer you have.
There are plenty of ways to end the battle with stress and come out as the victor. The sooner you cull this problem, the better. Stress should not rule your life.
