Juicing Techniques
Juicing Techniques
Many people have considered juicing because they know how healthy it can be for the body, but they don’t know where to actually start.
They assume juicing is just too difficult and they never get started making a change that could truly improve their health now and in the future.
If you are one of these people, and you have put off juicing for one reason or another, the good news is that it doesn’t have to be nearly as hard as you may think. Here, we will talk about some juicing tips and techniques that can ensure you are able to enjoy the health benefits of juicing without any of the hassles.
Make Sure You Keep Things Simple
This is where so many people go wrong with juicing. They think they have to include eight or nine ingredients. They don’t want to spend the money on all of those ingredients or they think it will be too much of a hassle.
Well, here is some good news for you: you really only need three to four ingredients. A juice with this number will actually be just as beneficial to you. So, an important rule to follow is to keep things as simple as possible.
Don’t Be Afraid of Getting Spicy
This is a great technique if you like flavorful things. You can easily add herbs and spices to your juices for just a little kick. Fresh herbs will be more flavorful, but dried ones work as well. There are lots of different ways you can use herbs and spices, but many people enjoy making spicy juices with cayenne pepper. These spicy juices are great for changing it up and adding some variety as opposed to only using citrus and sweet flavors.
Consider the Water down Method
You can add water to your juices to make them a little easier to get down, which is a great technique for those who don’t particularly like the taste or texture of juices. However, to get the most benefit from this method, don’t just use tap water. Instead, turn to coconut water. Coconut water is full of electrolytes taste great and is extremely healthful for you.
You can make your juice and then create a drink that is 50% the mixture and 50% your choice of coconut water or just regular water.
The Slow Add in Technique
If you are new to juicing, then this technique is for you. Switching immediately to an all juice and all liquid diet (even though you should only juice fast for no more then five days) can be daunting and overwhelming. So, instead of doing this, start out slow and then work your way up.
When doing a juice fast or detox, start with one day at a time. Aim for a one day detox first, than determine if you want to go further after that first day. After you’ve accomplished the one to five day detox, move forward and go back to eating healthy foods while juicing as well. This technique allows you to introduce juicing slowly to your body. Not everyone needs to do it this way, but for some it works very well. If you’re not doing a detox and just want to try juicing aim for one juice in the morning 3 or 4 times a week and increase from there.
Juicing can be extremely beneficial and healthy for you. And, if you are daunted by the concept, then follow through with one or more of these techniques and you will find this process is much easier than you may have imagined.
