Natural Fruit and Vegetable Wash

Natural Fruit and Vegetable Wash
You never know what kind of pesticides, insects or dirt may be lurking on the surface of your favorite fruits and vegetables. That’s why it’s always a good idea to thoroughly wash all your produce before eating it, especially non-organic. Although washing with plain water helps, adding some natural sources of acid (lemon and vinegar) to the wash can provide additional, natural disinfectant power. Follow these easy steps to make a fruit and veggie wash that is inexpensive and cleansing.
1. Squeeze out or juice two tablespoon of lemon juice into the spray bottle. The lemon juice is both a natural disinfectant and will leave your fruits and vegetables smelling nice.
2. Pour 4 tablespoons of vinegar into the spray bottle along with one cup of water. The vinegar provides some additional disinfectant power.
3. Screw on the top. Shake the mixture vigorously.
4. Spray the wash on all of your fruits and vegetables prior to using them. After each spray, let set a minute, and then rinse off with water. They’re now ready to juice, eat, or use in cooking.
